In a premier collaboration between Ullman Sails and the Hydronamis® engineering team, the Rain Collection Kit is an innovative solution engineered to endure the harshest elements, including corrosive salt mist, intense UV exposure, and extreme weather. This high-performance system mounts directly to the front of the DRD framework, providing a critical water-harvesting option for remote areas and island environments where surface water sources may be scarce or vary depending on the season. The collection array features a specialized 17 sq. ft. “bat-wing” sail crafted from high-grade Dyneema® fabric, supported by powder-coated aluminum outrigger poles and a precision 5-axis machined aluminum mounting block for outstanding strength and a decade-long lifespan.

As rain collects on the Dyneema® surface, it is gravity-funneled directly into the dirty water storage tank. Once the internal float switch detects the inflow, the DRD’s autonomous purification process begins automatically. With an average collection rate of 5 gallons per storm event, this kit transforms the DRD into a truly self-sustaining water production hub for long-term disaster relief and humanitarian aid operations in isolated regions.

The Hydronamis DRD secures your family’s absolute peace of mind by solving the two most critical threats of any disaster: total loss of electricity and the contamination of or loss of running water. Following a major catastrophe like a hurricane, local fuel stations shut down, making gasoline, diesel, and propane non-existent and impossible to source. The DRD bypasses this resource bottleneck entirely by functioning as a 100% self-sustaining, solar-powered survival hub. It is engineered to independently support a family for months at a time, powering critical devices while providing safe water for drinking, cooking, and bathing, until municipal infrastructure is slowly restored.

Yes. Financing is available through Affirm. Eligibility, interest rates, and monthly payment options are determined by Affirm and may vary based on customer qualifications.

Output varies by model and water conditions. The DRD is available in configurations capable of producing approximately 150 – 450 gallons of drinking water per day from contaminated surface water sources.

No. The DRD is designed to provide power for critical loads rather than serve as a whole-home backup system. It can support essential equipment such as refrigeration, communications, medical devices, lighting, and small appliances during outages or off-grid operation.

High-demand appliances such as central air conditioning, electric heating systems, water heaters, electric ranges, and clothes dryers are generally beyond the intended scope of the system. Available power will also depend on operating conditions and daily water production requirements, as water purification consumes a portion of the system’s generated energy.

The DRD can support approximately 225 people at 2 gallons per person per day, or up to 450 people at 1 gallon per person per day in a 450 GPD configuration. It can also provide essential power for communications, lighting, and select medical equipment depending on system load.

The DRD is designed to purify a wide range of surface water sources, including rivers, lakes, ponds, floodwater, ditches, brackish water, and seawater (model dependent).
